A disturbing case reveals the remorseless way social workers and courts seek to track down families who have fled to a new life abroad

Even Ofsted last week seemed to be joining the ever-growing number of people alarmed by the extent to which our “child protection” system has gone horrendously off the rails. After inspecting the performance of 152 local authority “children’s services” departments, it reported that 83 per cent were performing barely adequately, or worse.

If emotional abuse is to be a crime, who is guilty here?

A mother's misunderstood comment led to her being jailed and her daughter put into a care home

Each time I investigate a new instance of how crazily our “child protection” system has gone off the rails, I wonder how any story could be as bad. To paraphrase the opening lines of Anna Karenina, “all happy families are alike, but each unhappy family that has fallen into the clutches of this system experiences how corrupted it has become in its own way”.

This week’s example is that of a mother and daughter who lived happily together in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas of countryside

Children and Families Bill becomes law after receiving royal assent

Children and Families Bill becomes law after receiving royal assent

Note: The following is the spin put out by the government to gloss over the fact that it will now be even easier for Social Services in the UK to steal children, and sell them off on the internet on adoption websites. Hundreds of parents have already been jailed for speaking out about this obvious violation of human rights.

Children's directors welcome 'significantly improved' Act, but warn more work is needed to ensure it supports workers on the frontline

Children in care, prospective adopters and young carers can look forward to greater government support after the Children and Families

The success of a newly qualified social worker’s first year relies on the retention of experienced staff to work with them

The success of a newly qualified social worker’s first year relies on the retention of experienced staff to work with them

Employers must be careful to maintain the right balance between newly qualified and experienced employees, says social worker Nikki Burton

Support for newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) in England has significantly improve over the last two years, thanks largely to work by the Social Work Task Force and The College of Social Work, and the development of the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE). This has seen an increase in NQSW employment, particularly in the public sector, where ASYE programmes are more easily accessed.

For some local authorities, this can mean a higher

Jonas, a child with Down's syndrome, 'visibly regressed’ and eventually died after he was handed over to foster carers

Lord Justice Munby, recently promoted to be head of our family courts, announced again last week that he is determined to meet the tidal wave of criticism being directed at the system

It is four years since I began regularly reporting here on the most disturbing story I have covered in all my decades as a journalist – the way our “child protection” system has been allowed, by the secrecy imposed by the courts on all its workings, to go so horrifically off the rails.

NOTE: This is proof that privatisation of child protection is not the be all and end all. In Australia all states are currently rushing into privatising child protection as soon as possible. These treacherous ministers of child protection departments insist on privatising everything possible, except for the complaints sections, as this would be the end of hiding the truth about their heinous operations of family desecration on a mass scale.

Service providers defend their agencies in face of critical youth advocate’s report B.C. MCFD child welfare expenses

More than half-a-billion dollars is spent each year in B.C. on child protection services — an important system that was harshly criticized last week by the province’s youth advocate.

The provincial budget earmarked $500 million for the 2012/13 year — and for the next two fiscal years — to pay for child-welfare costs such as social workers, foster parents and supporting troubled youth to live independently.

The federal government also gave an estimated $57 million in 2012/13 to

UK Social Services Help - Children Screaming to be Heard
Having been a voice for justice for no rewards for forty years I have witnessed the most horrendous atrocities on mankind, now in my seventies I never thought that I would have to end my days by witnessing what has and still is happening to the children of the UK.

For this reason the charity was registered for "children screaming to be heard" the silent witnesses and from the research undertaken it is very clear that the UK children are a multibillion pound industry which starts at ground level with the social workers who have been given

Jail social workers who take children without telling parents why, says Britain's top family judge

Sir James Munby attacked workers in Bristol who didn't explain themselves
They did not tell a couple why their two children were being taken from them
They breach a court order in doing so - which could carry a jail term in future

The country’s most senior family judge yesterday launched a furious attack on social workers who failed to tell parents why their children were being adopted – and suggested that in future the same offence could carry a jail term.

Local authority workers in Bristol ignored a court order requiring them to explain why the couple’s two children were being taken

Protect foster children from sex trafficking

Protect foster children from sex trafficking

These girls and boys must be better cared for and watched over.

Recent sting operations revealed that more than half of the children being traded for sex come from foster care. The same children identified by our courts as most in need of protection from abuse and neglect are being bought and sold everywhere from truck stops and cheap motels to wealthy suburbs. They are being used, reused, and then discarded like trash.
