Customer Satisfaction - why customers quit their service provider
Movement away from block funding towards ISP funding, money in the pocket of the service user rather than the service provider, should see significant movement towards customer satisfaction.

Yet we are seeing few signs of this in government direct services, where ministers continue to protect their departments from public/consumer scrutiny.

Services in the marketplace promote customer service and satisfaction. They say customers quit for the following reasons:

2%

Leave the area

4%

Improved Service Options

9%

Better Value

15% Product Dissatisfaction

70% Because of the Attitude and Indifference

The boy down the road has been seriously failed by social services

A case that’s close to home serves as a reminder of what happens when social work intervention is too half-hearted, writes an anonymous social worker.

There’s a restructure pending. Our area boundaries are changing and it looks likely I will need to move offices.

I began working in this area over 15 years ago, and while for a number of years I have done jobs in different places, I have still built up a huge bank of knowledge about the area, the local agencies and resources.

Quite often I will know something about the family of a new referral, and have even got to the point where I am now

My gay father’s sexual abuse was swept under the carpet, says victim

A former Army cadet who was sexually abused from the age of nine by his adoptive father and his gay partner has claimed social workers would not have ignored his cries for help had his abusers been heterosexual.

Social services insisted on returning Andy Cannon to live with the couple, even though staff at Wakefield council had received up to six allegations of physical and sexual abuse over a number of years.

Mr Cannon, now 23, said he believed social

UK - The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act was passed in May 2012.

As you are aware, The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act was passed in May 2012.

From 1 April 2013, local authorities will have greater financial responsibility for secure remand for young people, giving them an alternative to custody and shifting resources towards early intervention and prevention work. Central government have made it clear that a better approach to remand is needed: one that maintains community-led supervision, education and training and is focused on reducing the potential for offending.

Underhanded tactics of child protection workers FACS NSW

Negative public images hamper child welfare investigators

Note: If this isn't government propaganda I don't know what is. So much so that the FACS NSW stole it from another site to use on theirs. Maybe if FACS NSW didn't lie, fabricate evidence, falsify documents and organise fake psych reports they wouldn't be so untrusted by parents in NSW. 30 000 children in foster care in Australia and more than half of them have been taken by FACS NSW. The minister in charge of FACS NSW lied before she was even voted in, promising to return 4000 children should she be elected. Instead the minister for

Social workers arrived at hospital to take woman's baby while she was in LABOUR over concerns for its welfare
  • Social workers arrived at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary with a court order
  • Baby Victoria was taken away shortly after the birth in August 2011
  • Kelly McWilliams, 36, is demanding an apology from Doncaster Council
  • For four months she was only allowed two hours supervised time with daughter every day

A mother has told how social workers turned up while she  was giving birth in hospital to say they would be taking her baby  into care.

Without consulting her, social services chiefs had decided Kelly McWilliams was unfit to look after her baby because she had suffered from depression five years

Social services took my children

Social services took my children

Eileen Fairweather has investigated child care scandals for the past 20 years. But even she was shocked by the way an increasingly Stalinist state has torn apart one woman’s family.

A brilliant postgraduate recently asked me to attend a final care hearing in Britain’s notoriously secret Family Courts. She feared that social services were about to wrongly remove her children permanently from her care, and wanted a journalist to bear witness. I specialise in investigating social services, but refused.

Ireland - All State child welfare services face inspection

Fight Child Protection Department Corruption:
Ireland - All State child welfare services face inspection

All of the State’s child protection services will be subject to independent inspections for the first time to ensure they are providing adequate care and protection to vulnerable children.

Until recently, the Health Information and Quality Authority was only able to inspect residential and foster care services for children. But the authority’s remit has been expanded to include inspection and monitoring of the Health Service Executive’s child and family services.

The first inspection report of a regional child protection service – Kilkenny and Carlow – is due to be published over the coming
