Glenside couple accused of beating foster child

A Glenside couple have been arrested after allegedly beating their 12-year-old foster child so badly that he needed 18 stitches to close a cut on his cheek.

Claybon Hawthorne, 48, faces aggravated-assault and other charges, and his wife, Renee Fennell Hawthorne, 50, terroristic threats and endangering the welfare of a child in the April 30 incident.

According to police, Renee Hawthorne accused the child of ordering an iPhone using her credit card.

Man arrested in death of 11-month-old foster child

EL PASO, Texas —

The foster parent of an 11-month-old girl was arrested Wednesday morning after a police investigation revealed he was responsible for her death, police said.


The arrest affidavit states that Antonio Lopez, 35, reportedly took Jayla Beckley out of her crib and stomped on her. The blunt force caused her organs to bleed, which led to her death.

Eluru (Andhra Pradesh), July 5 (PTI) In a shocking incident that resembles the tragedy of battered baby Falak, a five-year-old girl was inflicted with severe burns, beaten up and starved allegedly by her foster parents in West Godavari district. The girl has been admitted to a hospital with multiple burns caused by hot spoon being put on her body, multiple rib fractures and head injuries. The girl is the third daughter of Konagala Apparao and his wife Devi of Tadepalligudem in the district.

Asmar I. Evans attempted to take his baby back


Solvay, NY -- A Syracuse man is facing several charges after Solvay police said he tried to remove his child from the home where Child Protective Services had placed the baby.

Asmar Evans, 32, of 105 Croly St. Apt. 307, entered an apartment about 1:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Charles Avenue without permission to take his four-month-old child, police said. The baby had been placed in the Charles Avenue home by Child Protective Services, police said.
