Reflections Upon 34 Years As a Juvenile Court Judge

Fight Child Protection Department Corruption:
Reflections Upon 34 Years As a Juvenile Court Judge
by The Honorable William Thorne, Jr.

I recently retired after serving for 34 years as a judge in both tribal and state courts. When I started as a juvenile court judge, I trusted that if I did my small part as a judge (basically accepting the recommendations of the professionals appearing in court before me), children would be well taken care of. I trusted that the “system” was doing right by the children it cared for. Since then, I have learned that system involvement is not the guarantee I believed it to be.

The focus of our juvenile system in the last couple of decades has been on safety

Report: Majority of Children Remain at Home after Maltreatment Investigation

Report: Majority of Children Remain at Home after Maltreatment Investigation

Children who remain in the home after maltreatment investigation may require mental and developmental health interventions

Note: This means that much of the time it is unnecessary to remove children, obviously it is much more traumatic to leave a loving home and move from foster home to foster home. Governments should be concentrating on supporting the family unit instead of feeding the child stealing machine, making all involved filthy rich while the people in need continue to go without.

I want to have full parental responsibilities of my child, is it too much to ask?

I was cornered and he turned violent and assaulted me by pushing my abdomen when I was three months pregnant

My name is Elaine Lim and I was a 30 year old Singaporean Chinese, seeking genuine relationship and commitment. Like others, had past relationships but did not work out, I gave it a go on a serious online dating website and was surprised my ex-husband Timothy Evans aged 26 had shown great interest on my conservative honest profile.

He expressed extreme adoration towards me and after a few months of long distance relationship he invited me to come over to Sydney to meet him and his

I'll never see my grandchildren again

A GRANDMOTHER at the heart of a legal tug-of-war over the future of two young children claims she may never see them again – due to social services negligence and failures.

As reported by the Daily Echo, the two children will be separated and placed into adoptive homes after their grandmother lost a lastditch appeal to look after them.

London’s Civil Court of Appeal heard how the youngsters, aged three and five, had grown up in a volatile home with a history of domestic abuse and neglect, and have complex problems that need extra care.

But the case led one of the top judges in the country

Boy gets 9 foster homes in 3 weeks - NZ Child Youth Family CYF

A Christchurch principal is demanding to know why a boy has bounced between nine different Child Youth and Family foster homes in three weeks.

Another "lost soul", despite no longer being a pupil of the decile-two Linwood Avenue School, shows up on the school's doorstep every morning - even outside of school hours - because it is the only connection he knows.

Child Youth and Family (CYF) is blaming a decrease in the number of carers and foster homes for children with high needs in Christchurch since the quakes.

Rise in number of at-risk kids taken into care, Families SA data shows

So FSA workers are the best carers according to this report the very best. Do you think some uni student straight out of college is really going to be the answer. And why doesnt the advertiser get the other side to all this bull so we have a real story not just fsa crapping on... Cheryl Williams-Coburn

INCREASING numbers of at-risk children are being taken from their parents and placed in out-of-home care - but more are going to foster homes and fewer are being placed in emergency motel accommodation.

Families SA data published in the latest annual report shows the number of vulnerable

The foster mum who took in a 'vulnerable' boy of 16 - only to find he was a drunken asylum-seeking thug of 26

The foster mum who took in a 'vulnerable' boy of 16 - only to find he was a drunken asylum-seeking thug of 26
  • Susan Johnson became a foster mother after her daughter left home
  • But she has faced 'a cavalier attitude to her safety' from the care system
  • Twice she has had foster 'children' she was incapable of caring for
  • One Afghan 'boy' turned out to be chain-smoking man of 26
  • Another British 15-year-old emptied her bank account of £1,000
  • But she continues to foster, despite her family's objections

The aggression in the voice on the other side of my spare bedroom door was both startling and frightening — not least because it was supposed to be coming from a young boy.

I’d knocked respectfully before

The Baby Safe A Unique Way To Abandon Babies - Instead Of Dumping Them

The Baby Safe A Unique Way To Abandon Babies - Instead Of Dumping Them

Cape Town - A clinic is offering mothers who no longer want their babies a safe and anonymous way of handing over their little ones.

The Baby Safe is a non-profit organisation that has a unique way of getting moms to drop off their babies instead of dumping them.

“The safe itself is a mechanical box created by an engineer,” says the organisation’s Danielle Thomson.

“Once a baby is placed inside on the mattress, it magnetically seals shut and then through an installed sim card, it calls our on-call phone and two staff members immediately.

“We then fetch the baby within three minutes.”
