Absence
by Lori E. Allan

Empty in the photos
is the shape of a man
who has left a void
of himself.

The strength of his arms
lifted the glass
apart from the frame
as he climbed out of the situation.

Behind the bars,
I am confined within
the seventy-two percent
of African-American children raised
in single-parent homes.

Struggle is the only thing
that shows up
in the house we live in,
the food we eat,
the look in my mother’s eyes.

Despite the chasm,
I can still hear the way he says my name.
He had a photographer’s urge

Meaning behind facebook photos: DoCS Cairns North Terrorists

I am sorry if people got the wrong idea about my facebook wall photo and profile avatar. Someone said that they will come back and use this photo against me, so just to clarify the meaning behind the wallpaper on my profile page....

We are dealing with people who kidnap and murder children. Who refuse to step in and help a baby who is in obvious danger, letting them die instead. They then appear at the inquest of this child, insisting the father leave the inquest of his son while they give evidence, which shows how fair the judge is, and what sort of inquest it is.

Something has been deeply troubling me of late, regarding what DoCS did to Lukey. When I first lost Luke, I used to write a lot. It helped me deal with what had happened and was a good way to keep a record of my thoughts and what we had been through. I thought there wasn't anything left to write, but there was a lot I wasn't told about what DoCS did to Lukey that came out at the inquest, and there would still be a lot DoCS are not saying. today.

I remember Luke reaching for me as he screamed when the police officer decided to take him away on a whim, no paper work, nothing.
