Kinship Care as First Option For Children in Care

on Sat, 03/02/2013 - 11:52

"Is kinship care always better than non-relative resource homes"

Hi Lindsay, the same as anything, all people are different, and so are their situations. The first "fact" I would like to point out is that children are up to ten times more likely to die in foster care than in the family home. The average age of children who are dying is four years old and under.

These "do gooders" working in child protection refuse to take this into account, as they also refuse to afford parents any credibility or rights. It's all in "the best interest of the children."

How convenient.

Scotland - Information Regarding Kinship Care for Families Dealing With Social Services

Kinship care

This information applies to Scotland only

Kinship care

All across Scotland, thousands of people, such as grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends, care for children because their natural parents are unable to do so. If you are looking after a child like this – full time or most of the time – then you are a kinship carer.

The rights and responsibilities of kinship carers can be complicated. Getting advice is important so you know about your options and know if you are getting the practical and financial support that you are entitled to.
