Former Tulsa Foster Parents Arrested After Kids Found In Filthy Home

Tulsa Police arrested two former foster parents Monday for child neglect, after finding their house infested with roaches, bed bugs and lice, for the second time.

They took their four foster children away in July and took three other children away Monday.

Tulsa Police said it's not the first time Robert McElvain, 35, and Felecia Polk, 25, had children living in filth.

TPD's Child Crisis Unit searched the house in the 6200 block of North Main Street Monday and found it was infested with bugs.

With the couple in handcuffs, police took pictures of the trashed out house, with roaches climbing the

United Kingdom - The pro-lifers adopting 'spare' embryos created during IVF

For pro-lifers, America’s 650,000 or so ‘spare’ embryos – created during IVF and now in cold storage – merit the same rights as any child in need of loving care. Rob Blackhurst talks to some of the agencies and families deciding the fate of these ‘snowflake babies’.

In a low-rise office block in balmy southern California, the pastel walls are adorned with photographs of babies fresh from the labour ward – still wearing wrist tags and swaddled in hospital blankets – and a montage of elementary-school children with mops of blond hair.

S.A. couple: Social worker unfairly targeted us after baby delivery

SAN ANTONIO -- The parents of a newborn baby say they were unfairly targeted by a social worker at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital.

Christine Aragon and boyfriend Albert Salinas welcomed a 6-pound, 15-ounce baby girl named Zooey last Wednesday.

Aragon said just hours after going through a Cesarean Section delivery, she was approached by a hospital employee, who questioned her about her medical history.

The worker eventually left paperwork for the mother of four, detailing how to get counseling for postpartum depression.

The same worker returned the following day, and informed the couple

When handing over your children to Child Protective Services you're told they will be going to a good home. When reading stories like this about those living in a country and holding honoured positions in the military abusing children, how could you ever think your child is safe?

Safety should be foremost at the minds of everyone involved in the Child Protection Industry, however it seems like it is not.

Where is the Line Between Adoption and Child Buying?

Where is the Line Between Adoption and Child Buying?

Adoption was once under the auspices of trained social workers who purported to have the best interests of children-in-need in their heart. Over the past several decades, however, American domestic infant and international adoption has become privatized and entrepreneurial. Only adoption from foster care remains in the hands of the state and unfortunately represents its own set of failures, abuses and funding driven corruption.

The difference between for- and not-for-profit adoption agencies is merely a tax status, though the later gives an illusion of a charitable organization.

Parents were never charged with abuse, police say. Jose and Dawn Garcia's son, Dominic, was taken by DCS days after he was born because they were accused of abuse.

CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — Two days after Dawn Garcia gave birth, a social worker with the Department of Children’s Services arrived at the Clarksville hospital and told the shocked new mom to hand over her son.

At the time, the 22-year-old mother and her husband, Jose Garcia, a Fort Campbell infantryman, were under investigation for abusing their 21-month-old daughter — an accusation the couple vehemently denied.

Couple told they cannot have their children back after being wrongfully accused of abuse to take court battle to Europe

A couple forced to give up three children for adoption despite a judge ruling they may have been wrongly accused of abuse yesterday vowed to take their legal fight to Europe.

Mark and Nicky Webster said they will never give up the battle to win back their daughter and two sons after the Appeal Court ruled this week that it was 'too late' for the family to be reunited.

The couple have not seen the children, now aged nine, seven and five, since they were put up for adoption four years ago.
