Child and Family Services And Alberta Children Hospital Abuse Children as a Team

A year ago our child was misdiagnosed and mistreated in Alberta Children's Hospital .

He was diagnosed with Miller Fisher Syndrome and was treated with IVIG( 50 anti bodies from 50 different people) and next day we were told that it was a wrong treatment and was changed into Wernickes ( 60 years old Alcoholics illness) and was diagnosed with Vitamin B 1 Deficiency.

No one could find the answer as our child was a vetarian and never ever missed a Vitamin B .After IVIG he acted weird and started to act as if he was not knowing what he was doing.

First of all, kudos to Alberta Primetime, CTV producers, hosts and camerapersons for raising the issue and forwarding public awareness of a tremendous problem within society - which plagues not strictly, Alberta, but all of Canada - as well as the US, UK and beyond. As well, thank you to on-air panelists and those who contributed behind the scenes with their own stories of oppression in order to better educate.

Alberta Child and Family First - A voice for Children and Families

Alberta Child and Family First is a lobby group. At this time we are circulating a petition to change the Burden of Proof in Family Court to Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. We have provided the Alberta Minister of Human Services 14 Recomendations that would make the system fair and just and save the province money.

We try and help others with information that may help them in their cases.
We hold events such as Rallies/Protests, and attend other events organized by other groups.

Alberta officials deny wrongdoing after toddler’s death wrongly deemed a homicide

on Thu, 04/26/2012 - 17:25

CALGARY — Provincial officials are denying any wrongdoing in a case involving a toddler who was put into foster care for nearly two years following an autopsy that wrongly classified his stepbrother’s accidental death as a homicide.

The child’s family is suing the former Calgary pathologist who performed the autopsy, Dr. Michael Belenky, along with Alberta justice and child welfare officials.

One of the main allegations in the family’s $2-million suit is that Belenky’s erroneous finding damaged the family’s reputation and the resulting suspicion over the boy’s death in 2009 led to

Apr. 11 marked the one-year anniversary of four-month old Delonna Sullivan’s death while in foster care.

More than a year later, Delonna’s mother and close relatives are continuing their efforts to get their voices heard in hopes of bringing change to the province’s foster care system.

Marilyn Koren, Delonna’s grandmother, along with her daughter Jamie Sullivan, Delonna’s mother, were two of the advocates present at the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton on Apr. 11 in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of Delonna’s death.

Fatalities of children in care symbolic of broken system

on Fri, 04/20/2012 - 18:42

EDMONTON - Over the past decade, children apprehended by the Alberta government have been almost twice as likely to die as children in the general population, according to numbers made public for the first time Wednesday.

That’s a painful number for people who feel like their children are trapped in the system.

It “scares the hell out of me. I’m more concerned about him dying than anything else,” said Scott, a 24-year-old from the Edmonton area whose infant son was apprehended one month ago.

“There shouldn’t be any deaths.

This just in. Please let your Canadian friends know.

Michael:

My heart melts for all parents who have suffered loss of a child and in particular, loss of a child in the care of a Government Child Protection Agency.  I wish I could say and do more.  However I am running on this very issue in an upcoming Alberta Election.

I am running as an independent candidate in the upcoming Alberta Election scheduled for April 23, 2012.  As an independent it is very hard to get the media attention Party Politicians receive who are obviously buying votes with all sorts of give-aways of Alberta tax dollars.
