Army Of Angels Mobilizing America Quilt Project Underway

Comprised of pictorial panels which portrait and honor young crime victims along with their family members the Army of Angels Quilt project is underway. Inviting members of communities from coast to coast to participate by submitting a child/children to be honored, providing quilt supplies or sewing to help create the creative comprehensive awareness piece.

Sponsored by Army Of Angels, a Sacramento based international coalition of child advocates, the project will aid in calling attention to the cause during National Child Abuse Prevention Month (April), as it travels along with Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice.Army Of Angels International Coalition Coordinator Candy Stevens of Las Vegas Nevada is taking the lead with this effort, serving as a liaison with volunteers all over the nation wishing to become involved.

Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice is co-produced by Mark Lunsford (father of young homicide victim Jessica Lunsford-the inspiration for Jess’s Law and Kathleen Moore Founder-Army Of Angels). The caravan of hope includes motorcycles, cars, trucks and SUV’s that travel from California’s Capitol to Washington DC and back advocating for a safer society, while generating awareness and resources for children’s programs such as the Klaas Kids Foundation. Participants have the option of traveling the entire route or for just a portion of the journey.

“We feel very good about adding the Mobilizing America Quilt Project to our Kross Kountry-4-Kids line up” says Lunsford about the exciting effort. The initial six panels set to tour April 2013 will be unveiled in March, guests along the route will additionally be offered an opportunity to autograph and send along sentiments of their own on an additional “Societies Square” that will be along side the purposeful project as it is displayed.
