In your email you’ve asked if I was abused as a child. That’s a question that has been asked many times and I will attempt to answer, you can decide for yourself.

I’ve been asked many times if I have been abused or what made me decide to write about child abuse and child sexual abuse. In most cases I have given a flippant response or not really responded at all. There are very few people who know anything about me personally.

RAE Whitbourne can't recall the number of times she cried at the loss of her baby son, taken from her in one of the notorious forced adoptions when she was only 14.

Now, 68, the Gordonvale grandmother, is looking forward to the PM Julia Gillard's apology tomorrow for the hundreds of thousands of lives blighted by the policy.

"It will be helpful because it acknowledges that a lot of girls just like me didn't suffer in vain," Ms Whitbourne said.

Victim blames Children’s Aid Society for years of abuse by guardian

TORONTO - A slender, blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl suffered eight years of horrific physical and sexual abuse starting when she was just seven at the hands of the man the Children’s Aid Society entrusted to keep her safe.

A jury found Mac Bool Hassan guilty eight days ago of 13 criminal offences for sexually and physically abusing the girl — who isn’t biologically related to him — as well as assaulting her half-brother.

The verdict was reached swiftly after only fours hours of deliberations because the evidence was overwhelming, said Crown attorney Heather Keating.

Hassan, 49, will be back

In loving memory of Jaren Wayne Blacksmith who died in foster care aged 3 years old

COLUMBUS — A Hardin woman who admitted to a charge of negligent homicide for the death of a 3-year-old foster child was sentenced Friday.

Lavonna Bird, 51, was ordered to serve 20 years at Montana Women's Prison, with five years suspended, for the Aug. 17, 2011, death of Jaren Wayne Blacksmith, who died after he was left for several hours inside a locked car.

Authorities said the Blacksmith child, who was one of several children placed in Bird's foster care, died of hyperthermia, or elevated body temperature.

Prosecutors said outside temperatures reached 93 degrees on the day the boy died.

Boredom has set in so I thought I would make a note of my musical achievements.

Jimmy Barnes once gave me 8 out of 10 once in a talent competition. I have sung while being backed by Phil Emanuel on guitar numerous times. The last band I was in was about 20 years ago when I was young and wild.I have always played more for my own enjoyment.
Age 6 taught myself the recorder from a book my older brother brought home from school.
Age 7 started euphonium lessons and played

(Boston, MA) — A massive review of Massachusetts foster care shows that nearly one in five children who have been in state care for at least two years have suffered confirmed abuse or neglect — all while in the custody of the state Department of Children and Families (DCF), according to one of five reports issued by independent child welfare policy experts and released today by national advocacy group Children’s Rights and local counsel.
